Object storage
https://s3.picote.ch is Picotech's object storage
endpoint. It speaks the Amazon S3 API, so it is used with S3 tools and
SDKs rather than with a web browser.
Connecting
- Endpoint
https://s3.picote.ch. HTTPS only: plain HTTP is redirected.- Addressing
- Path-style:
https://s3.picote.ch/bucket/key. Virtual-hosted style (bucket.s3.picote.ch) is not supported, so set your client to path-style. - Region
na-west(Western North America). If your tool offers only AWS region names, any of them works.- Signing
- AWS Signature Version 4. Presigned URLs work too.
Access keys
Every request needs an access key. Keys are issued to Picotech customers through the storage portal, storage.picote.ch, which also creates buckets. A key reaches only the buckets it was issued for.
Examples
AWS CLI, in ~/.aws/config:
[profile picotech]
endpoint_url = https://s3.picote.ch
region = na-west
s3 =
addressing_style = path
Then, for example, aws --profile picotech s3 ls s3://bucket/.
rclone, in rclone.conf:
[picotech]
type = s3
provider = SeaweedFS
endpoint = https://s3.picote.ch
region = na-west
force_path_style = true
access_key_id = …
secret_access_key = …
Experimental
Virtual namespaces: an endpoint of your own where buckets can have any name S3 allows, without your prefix.
